The four main questions people ask me
and where to find the answers:
|
|
1. Where do I find out about all the different communities?
There are so many towns and villages in the Chicago area it can be hard to know where to start. Probably the
easiest place to get started is Quick Directory which has links to almost every community in the Chicago area
and to each community's web site. The Comprehensive Guide is the best information about the whole area I have ever
come across. At the bottom of the page you will find links to the communities that I handle frequently. At the
bottom of the page you will find links to the community websites of towns where I frequently handle real estate
transactions and the newest listings updated daily.

2. How do I get around the area?
The Chicago area has an excellent mix of commuter railroads, bus service, highways and two major airports.
METRA Train Service- Commuter railroad service throughout the Chicagoland area and as far
west as Aurora. Schedules, routes and more
Pace Bus-Local bus service throughout the area
Airports- Information about both Chicago's major airports
IDOT (Illinois Department of Transportation)- Roads, highways and toll roads
throughout the Chicago area and the state
3. How do prices in the Chicago area compare with the rest of the country?
No two communities are exactly alike however there can be enough similarities to make some rough comparisons.
Coldwell Banker offers a tool to compare home prices across the country. This can be a great starting place if
it is used correctly. Try it and see what you think. I will be glad to help you pick out towns that are
similar.

4. Where do I find more information?
This section has links to the counties I service which contain a wealth of information and more links. I also
have links to the state of Illinois and the Department of Natural Resources which governs Illinois State
Parks. There is also a link to check on whether a community charges a tax on the sale of real estate, if
so who pays it and whether a community requires inspections. (The state of Illinois and local counties
tax the sale of real estate but not every community has a tax.) Finally you will find links to the community
websites of towns where I frequently handle real estate transactions.
